James 5:9-11 - Patience / Suffering

Reflection:

Instead of asking ‘where God is in the midst of your pain,’ James calls our attention to the prophets and ultimately the book of Job affirming God’s sovereign control and basically asks us, “Where are we in our pain?”

• Are you trusting God, even though you may not understand your circumstances? How do you need to grow in this?

As a follower of Christ, who has been promised suffering in this life, pain is unavoidable. 

• Is your relationship with God enough when trials come?

• Do you trust Him through your suffering?

  • Read Job 38–42.

  • Pray for a stronger faith in the powerful God described in those chapters.

  • Pray for a right perspective of Him so that you might see your situation through His eyes.
